I was asked recently to design the poster for Next Phrase, a percussion retrospective for group Drumatix. The initial brief was to create a bold type-based poster. Eventually, the top poster ended up being chosen (after some changes to the brief) and many discussions. I had hoped that they would have chosen the second one. With the two unchosen posters, I wanted to convey the idea of using music as a protest voice, given the recent changes to the music department at ANU.
